Well, I have good news and bad news for you then.

Post types or categories for #pants posts would be great I think, some way to differentiate longer, real articles from just simple microblogging-like posts.

Well, I have good news and bad news for you then.

The good news is that #pants natively supports different post types. It already does this today, but I’m not doing anything terribly exciting with them yet (the upcoming Like feature will use them, with a Like simply being a new post of a specific type that is rendered and handled differently from normal text posts.) I have a bunch of ideas where this stuff can go that are wildly more exciting than a Like feature, but I need to take one step after another.

The bad (?) news is that these different post types are not intended to separate types of text posts like you suggested, but of course I won’t stop anyone from using this functionality in whatever way it serves them best.

There’ll be more information on the implementation once I’ve cemented things down a bit more.
